Our animals are very much part of our family and are raised and cared for with love, attention and respect, no matter what. They’re used to people and enjoy cuddles.
Throughout the year, guests can meet our cows, horse, sheep, alpacas and goats, along with our flock of chooks. During season, the farm becomes even more special with the arrival of baby goats, lambs, alpaca babies and fluffy chicks, filling the paddocks with new life and plenty of heart-melting moments.
Guests staying at Blueberry Hills Cottages receive a complimentary animal feeding session — simply inquire after booking your stay. It’s a wonderful hands-on experience and a favourite for guests.
Our animals also happen to love the camera — they’re always happy to pose, making it easy to capture beautiful selfies and photos to remember your stay. These moments often become guests’ favourite memories.
Dam and picnic area
Tucked away on the farm is our beautiful, peaceful dam, a favourite spot for guests to slow down and take in the surroundings. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed picnic, with a picnic table set nearby and plenty of space to spread out and unwind.
As the day draws to a close, the dam becomes especially magical, reflecting the colours of the sunset across the water and creating a calm, picture-perfect moment. A charming tree swing adds a touch of nostalgia and fun, loved by both children and adults alike.
During the season, the dam comes to life as lotus flowers bloom and open across the water, adding another layer of natural beauty to this special space. Whether you’re enjoying a quiet moment, sharing a meal, or simply watching the sun go down, the dam is a place made for memories.
Seasonal Blueberry Picking
During blueberry season, guests are invited to experience the joy of picking fresh blueberries straight from the bush here at Blueberry Hills. Guests staying at Blueberry Hills Cottages receive complimentary entry tickets and only pay for the blueberries they pick — a relaxed, hands-on experience that’s loved by all ages.
Our blueberries are grown with care and intention. They are pesticide and herbicide-free, with no additives — just healthy plants, rich soil and a lot of love. These blueberry bushes are the result of over 40 years of care and dedication, making them something truly special.
The blueberry picking season is seasonal and weather-dependent, usually running from November to January. Whether you’re enjoying a quiet morning among the bushes or filling a basket to take home, it’s a beautiful way to connect with the land and enjoy produce at its freshest.
Grill/Barbecue
Each cottage is equipped with its own private barbecue, located on your balcony deck overlooking the paddocks and surrounding forest. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxed meal in the open air, surrounded by nature and fresh country air.
Fire up the BBQ in the late afternoon, unwind with a drink, and watch the sun set over the paddocks as the day gently fades into evening. Whether you’re cooking a simple dinner or sharing a long, leisurely meal, it’s a beautiful way to end the day and take in the peaceful farm setting.
Pick your own fresh eggs
Guests are invited to enjoy a true farm experience by collecting fresh eggs straight from our chicken coop and enjoying them for breakfast. We have a small, much-loved flock that lays the most beautiful eggs in shades of blue, copper, green and soft pink — a lovely surprise each morning.
Our chooks are raised with care and plenty of love, and it truly shows in the rich flavour and golden yolks of their eggs. There’s something special about starting the day by gathering your own eggs, connecting with the rhythm of farm life, and enjoying breakfast as fresh as it gets.
It’s a simple, wholesome experience that many guests say becomes one of their favourite memories of their stay.
